Artisian well This doesn't look like it has much to to with ponds, but in this case it does. We discovered our hand dug well (18ft. deep) was continually contaminated by ground water. So we had a new well drilled to 210 feet. Turns out we hit an underground river. You can see in the picture the water shooting out of the top of the well - at 4 gallons/minuet!
